On March 28, another interactive lecture-concert from the cycle "Musical heritage of Belarus in the space of modern culture" took place in the Labyrinth gallery.
This time, the participants of the musical chapel of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus presented to the audience the cantata “The White Dove”, written by the modern Belarusian composer Elena Atrashkevich. This vocal and instrumental work was created on the basis of an artistic understanding of the butt culture that existed on the territory of modern Belarus in the XVII-XVIII centuries. The artistic director of the chapel, Galina Tsmyg, analyzed this piece of music in an accessible form, told the audience about the sources that inspired the composer and their author's interpretation.
The concert took place in the form of a musical performance in the traditions of the choral theater, which provides for directing, set design and even animation accompaniment of the numbers. Thus, the actual way of presenting the National Choral Heritage was shown.
The project was implemented under the guidance of the choirmaster of the musical chapel, Zhanna Filippovich, and the director of photography, Juliana Shirko. We are waiting for everyone to attend the next concert on April 25 "Anthology of the National Choral Heritage", which will host the presentation of a unique publication – the first volume of the anthology dedicated to the reception of national heritage in modern composing and performing practice. For more info: (+375 17) 293 27 53.
