The annual meeting of the Belarusian Council of Libraries for Information Interaction was held in the library, on October 16, as part of the 6th International Congress “The Library as a Phenomenon of Culture.”
The meeting was chaired by director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky. The event was attended by heads of republican and regional scientific libraries, as well as libraries of leading institutions of higher education.
The meeting discussed a number of issues concerning the implementation of corporate projects: the functioning of the consolidated electronic catalog and local electronic catalogs of district libraries in Belarus; corporate subscriptions to licensed databases; the development of a repository of publicly available information resources; the formation of corporate databases “Library of Belarus in documents and materials” (in Russian: "Библиотечное дело Беларуси в документах и материалах”) and “The faces of Belarusian librarianship of Belarus in persons” (in Russian: "Библиотечное дело Беларуси в лицах”).
