Directors of republican and regional libraries and heads of working groups of the Council executive committee took part in the meeting which was held on March 20th at the National Library of Belarus.
The consortium’s efforts (of the Council of libraries of Belarus for information interaction) for corporate acquisition of databases for libraries of Belarus in 2015 and the prospects of the Virtual reading room development were considered.
Results of the questionnaire of libraries of Belarus on the use of the Union electronic catalog were summed up and the prospects of the national corporate cataloging system were determined.
The Belarusian libraries’ agenda for the celebrations of the 500-years anniversary of Belarusian book publishing was approved.
The guidelines for working groups of the consortium executive in 2015 and changes in the structure of the Council were considered.
Participants gave a favorable appraisal to the activity of the Council of libraries of Belarus.
