The ceremonial opening of the 6th Baku International Book Fair dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi took place in the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 27.

The event was attended by public figures, representatives of science, literature, culture, art, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, as well as foreign guests.

The First Deputy Director for User Services and Ideology, Elena Dolgopolova, presented the National Library of Belarus at the 6th Baku International Book Fair.

Within the framework of the exhibition-fair on September 27–28, in the conference hall named after the M.F. Akhundov hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Libraries as Mobile Information Centers”, where Elena Dolgopolova made a presentation “Internet Library Service: On Some Projects of the National Library of Belarus”.

The National Library of Azerbaijan also hosted the opening of the International Cooperation Hall. The opening ceremony was attended by employees of diplomatic missions of 13 countries in Azerbaijan and library directors.

The National Library of Belarus presented an exposition of books made by Belarusian publishers, reflecting the socio-economic development of the country, its centuries-old history and rich culture. The Belarusian booth was visited by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich. Now literature about Belarus will always be presented in the National Library of Azerbaijan.
On September 29 a cultural program with a visit to the National Carpet Museum, the National Museum of Art was held for foreign guests.

From May 6 to July 5, the Reference and Information Service reading room (room 257) hosts the book exhibition "Belarus Unconquered", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
