On February 24th at 5 p.m., at the gallery “Panorama” in National Library of Belarus takes place the opening of the exhibition of the eminent Ukrainian photographer Igor Gaiday.
The event is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with National Library of Belarus.
Photographer Igor Gaiday is well-known both in Ukraine and abroad. The peculiarity of his artworks is that the artist is able to see little wonders through the most common things, without any tricks or sophistications, and to share these wonders with the others. The people in his picture are real, sincere, and free of theatricality and affectation.
The exhibition will present the three author’s projects: “The Space of Ukrainian Bread”, “The Ukrainians” and “9+3”.
The first project is based on a simple but unusual view on bread. The second project is a collection of photo portraits of Ukrainian people, eminent and unknown, common and eccentric, old and young, all of which have a common feature – they all can be themselves before the lens. The third project presents a series of photographs that are a visual evidence of love and a portrait of the absolute happiness which announces itself with the cry of each new-born baby.
These works have already been exhibited in Ukraine and Europe and widely covered by media.
