On 19 September, within the framework of an official visit to the Republic of Belarus the parliamentary delegation led by Wú Bāngguó, Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress paid a visit to the National Library of Belarus.


At the National Library of Belarus director Roman Motulsky welcomed the guests. Members of the delegation made a familiarization excursion and acquainted themselves with the activities of the Library, its architectural features, equipment, information resources and interior design. The excursion continued on the outdoor observation platform where the guests had a scenic view over Minsk and the suburb.

At the Book Museum the guests saw the collection of rare editions from the stocks of the National Library of Belarus. Mr Wú Bāngguó wrote a memorable entry in the Guests of Honor Book.

On June 5, in the Hall of Educational Technologies of the NLB, within the framework of the previously signed agreement on cooperation in the field of information activities between the Belarusian Notary Chamber and the National Library of Belarus, a solemn transfer to the library's collections of a unique publication dedicated to the stages of the formation of the institute of notary in the Belarusian lands took place.

From May 6 to July 5, the Reference and Information Service reading room (room 257) hosts the book exhibition "Belarus Unconquered", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
