On 18-14 September, the practical training of young librarians of the CIS member countries was carried out in the major libraries of Moscow.
The training was arranged by the Non-Profit Partnership “The Library Assembly of Eurasia” with the support of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS member states.
During the practical training 22 young librarians from the CIS member countries could learn about the activities of leading and special libraries of Moscow. Participants of the training visited Russian State Library, the State Public Historical Library of Russia, M. I. Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature, the Fundamental Library of M.V. Lomonossov MSU, Russian State Library for Young Adults, the Library of History of Russian Philosophy and Culture “A.F. Losev House”, and memorial museum and scientific library “Gogol House”.
V.P. Lapo, head of Electronic Resources Section of the Acquisition Division represented the National Library of Belarus at the training.
Participants of the training got familiarized with the principles of activity of libraries in Moscow in conditions of an intensive informatization. A particular attention was paid to the questions of electronic resources acquisition at the present stage.
