On 21 May, a presentation of the book series “Гісторыя сусветнага мастацтва” (The History of the World Art) by B.A. Lazuko took place at the National Library of Belarus.
The visitors of the event were welcomed by the speech of Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky, head of editorial publishing house Belarus Sergei Peshin, Head of the Department of world and national culture of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Vera Prokoptsova, dean of the Faculty of Arts of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department of Ancient Belarusian culture of the Institute of Art, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences Boris Lazuko.
The books by B.A. Lazuko are the first works in Belarusian art history, dedicated to foreign cultural heritage, which cover the development of architecture, sculpture, graphics and arts, and crafts. The presented works of the well-known Belarusian scientist give the analysis of the development of different kinds of world plastic art from the Ancient times to the early 20th century. In 2012, the series "Гісторыя сусветнага мастацтва" (The History of the World Art) by B.A. Lazuko was marked by the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to cultural workers.
