On 27 May, a scientific and practical conference "Relevant problems of organization and development of the Union State", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from Nazi invaders, began working in the Library.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia Leonid Slutsky made a welcoming speech to the participants of the conference.
On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, he donated an electronic copy of the The Little Travel Book – a work of the outstanding educator, patriot and humanist Francysk Skarina – to the National Library of Belarus.
