Om May 29th, the National Library will host the opening of an exhibition of painting performed by students of the honored amateur team of Belarus “The fine arts peoples’ studio” under the direction of Rishard Mai.

Actual students and graduates of different years will take part in the art exhibition timed to the International Child Protection Day.

The unique children's art studio headed by artist Rishard Mai exists since 1978. It is remarkable that here students comprehend arts in an atmosphere of the absolute creative freedom. Young artists do not learn common skills, but discover them anew by solving creative tasks in a bright author's color. The art studio accepts kids aged from two years old, and by 7-12 years old they start to create wonderful things!

Children's works of art can not only compete to "adults’" painting, but often they surpass it regarding contents or the graphic form, expressiveness or a spectrum of receptions. Students’ works were on display at numerous exhibitions and won prizes on international competitions in Angola, Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Holland, Israel, India, Macedonia, New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Taiwan, Finland, France, Czechia, Japan and Madagascar.

Rishard Mai is a representative of Belarusian underground; he paints in style of abstract expressionism. The artist’s paintings are kept in ZimmerlyArtMuseum (the USA) and private collections in Belarus, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Israel, Poland, France etc.

At present Rishard Mai’s studio keeps perfecting arts and surprises the audience with new artistic discoveries.

The event starts at 3:00 p.m. at the gallery “Rakurs” (on the 2nd floor0.
