On February, 19th, a seminar-presentation “The Virtual reading room (VRR) of the National Library of Belarus as part of remote user service” was held at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.


Representatives of the National Library of Belarus (Elena Snigireva, Oksana Rudkovskaya, Pavel Kalenteev and Nadiezhda Radyuk) acquainted the seminar attendees with databases EBSCO, Grebennikon, EastView, Universitetskaya biblioteka (the University library), Integrum etc available to VRR subscribers in 2015.

Resources on open access interesting to users of public libraries, databases created by the National Library of Belarus and other Belarusian libraries were presented as well.

The event gathered about 500 people.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
