On December 19, the library hosted a press presentation on "The Humanistic and Creative Potential of Belarusian literature" as part of the Year of Peace and Creation.
The event featured the presentation of 26 volumes of the book series “The Golden Collection of Belarusian Literature in 50 volumes", in which masterpieces of Belarusian fine literature are printed. Academic collections of works by classics of national literature - Maksim Tank, Yanka Bryl and Kuzma Chorny, prepared at the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies and published in large republican publishing houses – “Fiction” (“Mastaskaya Litaratura”), and “Belarusian Science” (“Belaruskaya Navyka”) were also presented.
During the event, a unique book project was discussed “Modern Literature of the CIS Countries”, which was carried out by an international team of scientists, writers and translators from the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Publishers and writers talked about the best artistic achievements over the last creative year, presented the most significant works and books by modern Belarusian authors.
The press presentation was attended by Director of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Ivan Saverchenko, director of the publishing house “Fiction” (“Mastaskaya Litaratura”) Ales Badak, Deputy director of the publishing house “Fiction” (“Mastaskaya Litaratura”) Viktor Shnip, First Deputy chairman of the Public Association “Union of Writers of Belarus” Elena Stelmakh and many famous scientists, writers and publishers.
The event was decorated with a performance by the ensemble of cymbalists "Viarba" of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank.
The organizers of the event are the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Union of Writers of Belarus, the publishing house “Fiction” (“Mastaskaya Litaratura”), the newspaper "Literature and Art" (“Litaratyra i Mastastva”).
