On January 28th in the National Library of Belarus took place the opening of a book-illustrative exhibition ”The great talent, the great work, the great heart”.


Within the framework of the event a meeting with laureates of the Prize “For spiritual renaissance” and the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus was held.

The Prize “For spiritual renaissance” and the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus are awarded annually to outstanding cultural workers for their selfless vigorous efforts in the field of humanities for development and reinforcement of spiritual values.

National Library of Belarus offers the exhibition dedicated to the laureates whose creativity and fruitful work glorify their motherland. The exposition includes materials from the Library’s stocks: books, posters, photos, postcards, music, periodicals and electronic publications.

National Librarian R.S. Motulsky welcomed the laureates and guests of the event.

At the opening ceremony the fragments of the documentary film “The Belarusian Land” were shown. Visitors enjoyed performances of the honored amateur studio of modern ballroom dances “Mara”; the male choir “Blagovest” of the Belarusian Exarchate publishing house; O.F. Melyukh, the director of the Center of culture and folklore of village Vulka -1, Luninets district, Brest region; students of Belarusian State Academy of Music, laureates of international contests P. Doroganov and V. Plogovka. Workers of the Historical and Art Museum of Lyda showed national costumes of different epochs. Young talented artists, pupils of Gorets children school of arts and crafts, presented their works at the exhibition.

The exhibition ”The great talent, the great work, the great heart” is located in the circular passage on the second floor and is open till March 15th.

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
