The final lecture is a concert of the Musical Chapel of the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus from the cycle "National Musical Heritage of Belarus". It took place on November 30 at the Labyrinth Gallery.

The topic of the lecture was the music of Belarus of the Romantic epoch. The head of the chapel, Galina Pavlovna Tsmyg, spoke about the development of Belarusian culture during the period when a kind of manor culture was formed from the traditions of secular amateur music making, which had a significant impact on the development of national musical art, and also introduced some facts about the life and work of Belarusian romantic composers and the history of the creation of their works.

Musical illustrations performed by a string quartet, solo vocalists and a choir immersed the listeners into the atmosphere of music clubs and salons. The guests got acquainted with the samples of secular and sacred music by S. Monyushko, F. Miladovsky, M.K. Oginsky, K. Gorsky, A.G. Radziwill.

At the end of the concert, the audience, together with the choir, performed the already beloved polonaise "Farewell to the Motherland" by M.K. Oginsky.

Next year, the National Library will continue its cooperation with the Music Chapel. A new series of interactive lectures and concerts awaits us. Follow the news on our website!
