On 26 May at the art gallery “Labyrinth” of the National Library of Belarus took place the presentation of the book “Touristic Patchwork of Belarus”.


The authors suggest a concept of the development of Belarusian tourism on the basis of 52 local regions of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.

The edition is an original guidebook to the country and is useful both to representatives of touristic business and to common citizens who are interested in Belarusian history, traditional culture, information on sights, arts and crafts and people's masters.

Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus for User Service and Ideology Elena Dolgopolova opened the presentation. In the event participated: authors of the book “Touristic Patchwork of Belarus” Alkeksandr Lokotko, Olga Knyazeva, Evgenij Morozov, Olga Izotova; Chairman of the Public Supervisory Committee on Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Anatolij Butevich; Editor-in-Chief of the Republican Publishing House “Belorusskaya Nauka” Georgij Kiselyov.

Author-compiler and scientific editor of the book “Touristic Patchwork of Belarus”, Director of K. Krapiva Institute of Fine Art, Ethnography and Folklore, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lokotko offered to the National Library of Belarus a copy of the book autographed by the authors.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
