On September 8, the opening of the exhibition project "Bibliocompass. Navigator for gifts to the library".

Throughout its 100-year existence, the National Library of Belarus is not only the main book treasury of the country, but also the center of access to information from numerous sources and media. It is a place of unity of states, a place of exchange of cultural experience. Following the results of cultural and educational events, the library's collections are replenished with national souvenirs from different countries. As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary, visitors are presented with numerous and diverse gifts from partners, guests, friends and readers of the library.

Colleagues, friends, representatives of ministries and departments gathered to express their gratitude for the joint work and development of librarianship, and congratulate the National Library of Belarus on its anniversary. Aksana Knizhnikava, Director General of the National Library of Belarus made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. The exhibition features paintings, collage works, watercolour sketches and photoplastics, national clothing items, album editions from private individuals and foreign delegations from Europe, Asia and Africa, and, of course, books with autographs of writers, researchers, scientists and artists, facsimiles of book monuments, modern rare publications presented as gifts by individuals and organizations.

Among them stand out: the book of the artist Yu. Yakovenko's "Cantico dei cantici" ("Song of Songs"), recreated using the ancient technology of "World Map by Giovanni Vavasore", an 18-volume facsimile edition of the famous "Iconotheca Valvasoriana – a collection of graphic works by German, Austrian, Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian, English and Krain masters of the 16–17 centuries.

A special place in the exhibition is occupied by awards received by the library for successful work in implementing publishing projects to preserve and promote the book heritage, for contributing in the field of international humanitarian cooperation.

Many exhibits will be shown for the first time.

The exhibition project will run until November 30, 2022.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
