On January 11 at 4 p.m. in the Labyrinth Gallery the National Library will present the publication “National Parks – Pearls of Belarus” together with the publishing house “Belarus”.
The event is timed to coincide with the World Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks, which is celebrated on January 11. This holiday actualizes the problem of protected natural areas, which makes it possible to protect a part of wildlife and wildlife from death.
The book ”National Parks – Pearls of Belarus" is dedicated to the specially protected natural territories of our country – four national parks (Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Braslav Lakes, Narochansky, Pripyatsky), Biarezinsky Biosphere and Polessky radiation and ecological reserves. The author of the photos and texts is Igor Byshnev. Materials provided by state environmental protection and scientific research institutions were also used.
On the pages of the book, you can get acquainted with the history of the creation of national parks and reserves of Belarus, with their fauna and flora, many representatives of which are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus.
Igor Byshnev, representatives of the publishing house, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and librarians will take part in the presentation.
