From 1 March to 30 April, an exhibition "Get to know Belarus! Travelling in history” runs in the Periodicals reading room (room 106).
The exhibition includes publications, which authors offer readers on the pages of newspapers and magazines a fascinating travelling and excision over the native land.
Numerous articles, which are on display, acquaint visitors with castles of Belarus, whose history is related to the European history; with museums telling about life and work of famous cultural figures such as Y. Kolas, Y. Kupala, A. Mickiewicz, M. Chagall, I. Repin and others; with memorials and monuments, which immortalized events of the Great Patriotic War, etc.
Working with documents historians discover more and more pages of our past and find unknown facts which confirm already known ones.
The newspaper "Kultura" informs in the column "Gіstaryegraf" of previously unknown historical events of the 18th–20th centuries.
The newspaper "Litaratura i mastatstva" publishes news on archival science and gives an overview of new interesting books on history. From the articles of such periodicals as "Belaruski Chas", "Minski Kurier", "Vecherny Minsk" visitors of the exhibition will know about new discoveries in archeology and architecture of past centuries.
It is possible from the column "Gіstoryya Aychyny" of the magazine "Armia" to know more about the most important figures who left a trace in the history of our country such as Vseslav the Seer, David Gorodensky and others.
The exposition contains over 40 periodicals, including magazines "Belaruskaya Dumka", "Belarus", "Belaruski gіstarychny chasopіs", etc.
