On October 17, within the framework of an official visit to the Republic of Belarus, President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez visited the National Library of Belarus.
At the Library the President of Venezuela had a meeting with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The Heads of State considered the questions of bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Venezuela.
Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky welcomed the distinguished guests. The President of Venezuela and the President of the Republic of Belarus made an excursion to the Library.
Hugo Chavez received as a present the bas-relief of Simon Bolivar performed by people’s artist Nicolay Nesterevsky, and also the portrait of Hugo Chavez painted by Belarusian artist Mikhail Badamov. The event concluded with performances of artists from Simon Bolivar Latin American Cultural Center.
