The first working tour Minsk on the Open Palm was held in the library on February 21. The tour will be translated in a clear language.

The excursion was attended by young people from the social and labor studio Teply dom, employees of the public association BelAPDIiMI: the Belarusian Association of Assistance for Children and Young People with Disabilities, teachers and students of the Institute for Inclusive Education.

The mini-project Translation of the excursion Minsk on the Open Palm in "clear language" is being implemented by the National Library of Belarus together with the BelAPDIMI and is aimed at creating of a barrier-free communication environment.

In 2016, the Republic of Belarus ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and in 2017 the National Plan of Action for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the period 2017-2025 was approved in the Republic of Belarus. According to these documents, it is necessary to develop and implement a "clear language" as a form of displaying written, oral and other information accessible to people who have difficulties in understanding (persons with specific psychophysical development, children, elderly people, foreigners, etc.).
In many countries of the world people already know what is a clear language that helps people with difficulties to understand, read texts, learn different documents, get information and make decisions in many spheres of life independently, without anyone's help.

The implementation of the mini-project Translation of the excursion Minsk on the Open Palm in "clear language" will create favorable conditions in the National Library of Belarus for the inclusion of people with disabilities in cultural life.
