On the eve of the anniversary, the National Library of Belarus presents a grand project, prepared together with the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus.

The project features book and art exhibitions, reflecting the feat and sacrifice of Belarusian partisans and locals on the way to peace

The "Forest Song" book exhibition includes fiction and non-fiction, visual materials and diaries of partisan teams from the collections of the National Library of Belarus and the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus. The exhibition presents scientific papers of Belarusian and Russian historians about the partisan movement in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the memoirs of veterans of partisan movement and well-known public figures of the Byelorussian SSR. Much attention is paid to the liberation movement of the Belarusian people, the everyday life and struggle of Belarusian partisans.

The Belarusians endured all the hardships of the terrible war due to the ability to see and the desire to live. The art exhibition "Towards the Victory" bears the name of the overall project and is organized in accordance with the core message.

Visitors will see combat leaflets, maps of hostilities, site plans, sketches in different techniques (graphic, watercolor), and illustrations to brigade diaries from the collections of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus. The visual material reflects dreams and aspirations, as well as creative talents of partisans and civilians. Even in the harsh and hard times, they had found a place for creativity, writing or drawing, responding to the desire for beauty.
