Thematic exhibition "Not boring classics. Popular melodies and hits of classical music" takes place from October 3 to November 20 in the music and audiovisual materials reading room (room 305).

Classical musical works mean exemplary, perfect works of musical art that have passed the "test" of time. Many people find the classics incredibly boring and slow, incomprehensible to the modern generation. However, with the help of classical music, you can fight bad mood and melancholy, it has a powerful energy, to a greater extent incredibly joyful and harmonious, it contains humour and dance rhythms. The variety of genres, images, moods will allow each visitor of the exhibition to choose a work "to his liking".

The exhibition presents over 60 collections of masterpieces of world classics, which will definitely not seem boring, but will fascinate with their beauty. These are retro melodies, arrangements of folk songs, fragments from operas and operettas by Russian and foreign composers, instrumental compositions, as well as dance music – waltzes, tangos and jazz compositions. Among them are "Adagio" by T. Albinoni, "Joke" by J.S. Bach, "Turkish Rondo" by W.A. Mozart, "Seasons" by A. Vivaldi, "Cancan" by J. Offenbach, "Chardash" by V. Monti, "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake" by P. Tchaikovsky, etc.

Many works are given in a light arrangement (Nostalgie series and Best of Nostalgie). The presented collection is intended not only to replenish the repertoire of amateur musicians, but also to expand the pedagogical material of middle and high school children's music schools.

All the works presented at the exhibition can be played on the piano and listened to in the music and audiovisual materials reading room.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
