Classics of world literature Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas: a virtual project


A virtual project "Classics of world literature Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas" is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of classics of Belarusian literature, great bards of the Belarusian people, people’s poets Yanka Kupala (1882–1942) and Yakub Kolas (1882–1956) which is celebrated in 2012.

Their work advanced Belarusian literature to the world level and revealed the extraordinary strength and creative power of the Belarusian word.

President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko, with a view to provide the due arrangement of celebrations timed to the Belarusian classics’ anniversaries, has signed Decree № 487 of 25 October, 2011, "About events dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas".

The project "Classics of world literature Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas" is presented in three languages – Belarusian, Russian and English.
