If the TV set has taken fire

If the TV set is out of order, i.e. it cracks, smells like burnt wire insulation, the television tube suddenly dies away, switch it off at once and call the master.

If the TV has taken fire, disconnect it. Then cover it with an opaque blanket in order not to let fire go over curtains and furniture.

Extinguish fire with water or fire extinguisher after disconnecting the TV set only. When the television tube explodes, toxic smoke and splinters of glass are especially dangerous. Thus if you failed to extinguish fire leave the room and call the fire brigade.
