The collection of visual arts documents contains more than 150 thousand items, includes artistic posters, reproductions, postcards, photographs (including BelTA and TASS photo chronicles), prints and ex-libris.
The collection was founded after the Great Patriotic War and is today the largest in Belarus. The main part of the poster stock is posters of the Soviet period. Works by Belarusian poster artists V. Kryukovsky, L. Krol, V. Shmatov and others are presented. Postcards of the late 10th – early 20th centuries are of particular value. Prints are a unique part of the collection; authors are both world-famous and little-known graphic artists. The 18th – 20th century prints of Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Bernard Pekar, Félicien Rops, as well as works by Belarusian artists V. Providokhin, S. Gerus, A. Tychina, S. Romanov, G. Poplavsky, V. Sharangovich and other authors are of great importance.
