The exhibition of the contestants’ works was opened and the ceremony of awarding the winners of the VII International children and youth competition "КрасаWееk” was held in the National Library, on April 29th.
Solemn music, bright colors, smiles and animated conversations – the international project "КрасаWeek" gathered young and talented guys in the National Library to sum up the completion results and reward the best. For the seventh time, the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov has been conducting this contest in order to support young talents and help them discover their creative abilities. Over the years, not only the geography of the competition has expanded, but also the number of its participants has increased considerably: about 500 works of art from different parts of the world (Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Moldova, Bulgaria and Latvia) were sent to the organizing committee.
It is symbolic that this year, in addition to free subjects, the participants presented works on the "Heritage of Francysk Skaryna". Elena Dolgopolova, the first deputy director of user services and ideology of the National Library of Belarus, noted: "It is very pleasant that the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov has joined the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book-printing, highlighting this topic in the contest, and this significant date is reflected in the works of young masters. " She also congratulated the contest participants and winners and thanked the College for the close cooperation, which is not limited to the organization of exhibitions, but finds new facets and opportunities.
During the ceremony, the awards were presented in four categories for three age groups: painting, graphics, arts and crafts and sculpture. The Grand Prix of the contest "KrasaWeek" went to Zhanna Solodukha, the student of the Children’s School of Fine Arts in Brest. Diplomas and prizes were awarded to not only the contest winners and laureates. Special diplomas were presented to all the members of the jury for their responsible work in assessing the abilities of young talents, and to the teachers for their successful creative effort in preparing the students for the contest.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Belarus Milan Eckert, director of the Minsk State Art College named after А. Glebov Alexander Shantarovich, chairman of the Belarusian Union of Artists Ryhor Sitnitsa.
The best contest works will be on display in the gallery “Labyrinth”, till 11 May, 2017.
