On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth Union (Komsomol) and the 60th anniversary of the Belarusian student detachments, a book and illustrative exhibition of the same name began work, the grand opening of which, along with events dedicated to anniversaries and the concert "Our Youth", took place at the Palace of the Republic on October 27.
The exhibition presents publications from the fund of the National Library of Belarus. Among the interesting exhibits are musical editions "Komsomol Steam locomotive" by D. Kabalevsky and "Komsomol Member is always ahead" by B. Karakhan.
A number of landmark book publications – "The Program and the Charter of the Komsomol", "Charter of the All-Union Student Construction Team", "History of the Komsomol: a Living Chronicle"published articles and letters about the Komsomol, awards, its leaders. Books telling about the combat path of the Komsomol, student construction teams, anniversary editions are also of great value. Among the newest are essays on the history of the Belarusian Komsomol "In the rhythm of flying years ..." The publication dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union reveals the history of the creation and activities of the Komsomol of Belarus and its successor – the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM).
The book exposition is complemented by propaganda posters reflecting the history of the Komsomol and reproductions of works that represent significant events in the history of the Komsomol in an artistic interpretation. Most of the propaganda posters are made by the graphics of the Union of Artists of the BSSR: Sergey Volkov, Mikhail Chepik, Lyudmila Tarasova, Israel Radunsky, etc. The names of the posters – "Fight for the awarded title!", "Youth Motherland","Labourious semester", "We are blacksmiths and our spirit is young"are full of energy and inspiration to overcome any difficulties on the right path.
It is also interesting to observe the series "Heroic Lenin Komsomol" with reproductions of paintings by Soviet artists, representatives of socialist realism. The works of Ivan-Valentin Zadorozhny, Ivan Bevzenko, Boris Johanson, Fyodor Fiveysky, Honored Artists of the RSFSR Serafima Ryangina, Boris Korneev, People's Artists of the RSFSR Yuri Podlasky, Yuri Bosko, Marat Samsonov, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR Viktor Shatalin, People's Artist of the Turkmen SSR Evgenia Adamova and others are supplemented with quotations from literary works of Soviet writers.
The exhibition "105 years of the Komsomol and 60 years of the Belarusian student detachments" is located in the ring gallery of the 3rd floor from October 30 to December 26, 2023.
