The library hosts the exhibition "The Basic Law of the State", dedicated to the Constitution day of the Republic of Belarus (March 15) as part of the Year of Peace and Creation.

March 15 is Constitution Day, one of the main holidays of the sovereign Belarusian state. On this day in 1994, the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Belarus adopted the Constitution of independent Belarus.

The Constitution embodies the historical experience of the formation of the Belarusian statehood. It is based on the inalienable sovereign right of the Belarusian people to independently determine their own destiny and be a full-fledged subject of the international community.

The exhibition includes about 50 documents:  book editions of the 20th – 21st  centuries from the National library of the Republic of Belarus and unique documents from the National archives of the Republic of Belarus

The central place is occupied by the publication of the Constitution of 1994, which is the first in the history of a sovereign republic and the fifth Belarusian constitution. Also presented are publications with amendments and additions adopted at the republican referendums of November 24, 1996 and October 17, 2004. The exhibition presents archival documents (originals of the relevant laws and protocols), revealing the legal process of adoption and entry into force of innovations in the first editions of the Constitution of 1994 and 1996. The most actual is edition of 2023, as amended by the republican referendum on February 27, 2022. They also touched upon such important areas as the electoral and judicial systems, the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the education of traditional family values, and the preservation of historical truth. Among modern publications, the exhibition presents books of recent years that reveal the essence and significance of the constitution in modern Belarus, scientific and educational literature devoted to the history of the Belarusian statehood and the constitutional law of Belarus.

The original historical review of legal state documents presents the editions of the first Soviet Constitution of the SSR of 1919, the four-language Constitution of the BSSR of 1927, as well as other amendments to the constitution of the Soviet period: 1937 and 1978.

Among the outstanding monuments of the Belarusian legal, literary and linguistic culture are the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of 1588.The exhibition presents editions of the statutes of 1529, 1566 and 1588, which first recorded the norms of constitutional law.

The exhibition will be of interest to a wide range of readers and library visitors.
