Since October 12, a Mother's Day-themed exhibition called "Gentle, Sweet, Kind" has been running in the ring corridor on the second floor (October 14).

All the most virtuous and holy things are connected to the Mother's name in each person's destiny. Our drive to spread goodness, help others, and improve our lives is sparked by a mother's love and kindness.

In different countries of the world, Mother's Day is celebrated at different times. In Belarus, it coincides with the great Orthodox holiday – the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, and is celebrated on October 14. This day represents the state's and everyone's unique attitude toward mothers, who are the keepers of love, kindness, and good values in the house. The foundations without which it is difficult to increase the prestige of the family, the spiritual regeneration of society, and the complete growth of the state are the creative function of mothers and positive life orientations of children.

The exhibition includes over 150 of the most recent publications on the subjects that every devoted mother should know about: childrearing, living a healthy lifestyle, eating right, preserving family traditions and way of life, planning, landscaping, and making the home comfortable.

The exhibition "Brilliant Mothers in the History of Mankind" has a special area devoted to mothers who raised notable individuals, including future statesmen, philosophers, painters, poets, and writers.

The exhibition also features books about Belarusian women heroes, who have raised five or more children. Their achievements are marked by high state awards and titles, respect in the teams in which they work or have worked.

A wide spectrum of readers will be interested in the exhibition, especially young women, who will gain many helpful advice and tips.

The exhibition will last until November 8, 2022.
The end date of the exhibition can be changed.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

You can order the books included in the show through an electronic catalogue of the Belarus National Library.
