From June 26, 2008, in the National Library of Belarus is open a book exhibition “Independent Belarus – our solid common home” dedicated to the Republic of Belarus Independence Day (July 3).
July 3 is a particular date in the history and fate of Belarusian people. Belarusian people got their freedom at the cost of improbable victims and destructions. This event commemorates heroic deeds of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of our Fatherland. That because Belarusian people regards the day of liberation of Minsk city as the date of the main holiday of the country - the Republic of Belarus Independence Day. Belarus flourishing and powerful is the best monument to those who defended the independence of our country.
At the exposition is displayed a republican book “Memory of Belarus” (2005) and collected memoirs, documents, chronicles of partisan movement and underground fight in 1941-1944. “Unbowed Belarus” (2005) is a tribute to those who struggled for the Victory.
The exhibition totals over 100 materials about the modern independent Belarus. Materials displayed at the exhibition acquaint visitors with Belarusian national economy, foreign policy, state and prospects of innovations and the development of science, education, and culture, Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, history and the modern state of economic justice, state programs, and the development of sport and tourism in Belarus.
