A book exhibition “On the bookshelf: modern Belarusian fiction” runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (auditorium 205) from April 23 to June 8.


The most part of editions on display are acquisitions the Library has received during last two years. The exhibition presents fiction in Belarusian and Russian of different thematic and genres. The exposition has united novels, short stories, poems, plays, verses, ballads and other genres in which professional and original masters of the word, both young and experienced writers from different corners of Belarus share their ideas, excitements, impressions and memoirs. In the constellation of names there are R. Borovikova, A. Butevich, N. Galperovich, V. Gordey, T. Mushinskaya, A. Badak, A. Bravo, А. Ryazanov, А. Hadanovich, R. Malakhovsky, S. Kovalyov and others.

The exhibition will acquaint visitors with editions The Literature of Ivye Region and The Literature of Buda-Koshelyovo Region; selected works by M. Lynkov, L. Arabey, I. Chigrinov, V. Karamazov, V. Vitka issued in the series Belarusian Book Collection; books of prose Love and Believe, While the Heart is Still Beating; collections of modern Belarusian poetry In the Language of Heart, Belarusian Towel and numerous authors’ books of prose and poetry.

The exposition presents as well editions of the book series The Consonance of Hearts including the best works by post-Soviet poets and prose writers – representatives of the CIS member countries: A Happy Encounter: collection of works by Belarusian and Azerbaijan writers, The Golden String: collection of works by Belarusian and Ukrainian writers etc.

Among the exhibits there are translations of foreign books into the Belarusian language: collections of detective (The Crime, Sir!) and mystic (The Eerie Room) stories, novels by F. Dostoevsky Devils, I. Bunin Cursed Days, R. Giovagnoli Spartak, B. Prus The Doll, M. Viewegh and other.

The exhibition is designed for a wide audience of readers.

"On the paths of bright spring" by Pavlyuk Trus

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
