Anniversary book exhibition "Poetry is my life", dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Belarus Arkady Alexandrovich Kuleshov (19141978), takes place from February 6 to March 17 in the  Belarusian literature reading room (room 205).

Among the writers of the twentieth century. Arkady Alexandrovich occupies a special place, and his name belongs to those remarkable artists of the word, whose work and fate are inextricably linked with the fate of the Motherland and the people. A. Kuleshov's poetry deeply and thoroughly embodied the great truth of life, the rich spiritual experience of youth and maturity, work and love, struggle and achievements, harsh memory and deep love for life and people.

Arkady Kuleshov is one of those who brought Belarusian poetry to the international level – 93 of his books were published in Belarusian, Russian and foreign languages during the poet's lifetime. The poet's works do not age over the years, but acquire even greater power, strength and beauty, and therefore his dialogue with time, with eternity continues into the 21st century.

The first section of the exhibition "Confessional word" introduces the books of poetry by the writer "The heyday of the earth" (1930),  "For song, for the sun!" (1932), "Copper rain" (1932), poems "Amonal" (1933), "The Hunchback" (1935), "Baranay Vasil" (1941), "The Banner of the Brigade" (1943; USSR State Prize, 1946), "Adventures of Cymbals" (1945), "New riverbed" (1951; USSR State Prize, 1949), "Formidable Forest" (1956), "It is far to the ocean" (1972), etc., as well as with the collections "Pine and Birch" (1970), "My conversation" (1973), "Speed" (1976), "Wings" (1985), "Monologue" (1989), "Between the next and the previous" (1995), etc. Readers will also be interested in the poem "The Warsaw Way" (1972-1973), dedicated to the memory of A. Tvardovsky, a reader of the works of A. Kuleshov, an editor, critic and best friend.

Throughout his work, the poet has done well and translated a lot. The second section of the exhibition "On the unceasing road" introduces translations of works by A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, S. Yesenin, T. Shevchenko, M. Rylsky, etc. Translations of the books "Selected poetry" by M. Lermontov, I. Kotlyarevsky's "Aeneid", and G. Langfel's "Singing of Hiawatha" were awarded the Y. Kupala State Prize of Belarus (1970).

The writer also tried his hand at cinematography. He co-wrote the screenplays of the films "Red Leaves", "The First Trials" and "Remember this Day".

The last section of the exhibition "The light of a mighty talent" introduces publications placed in encyclopedic publications, books, literary and critical articles about the life and work of the poet. T. Golub, M. Arochka, R. Berezkin, M. Luzhanin, M. Grinchik and others wrote about him.

Book heritage of the House of the Mamonichi
