From 1 August to 28 September, a book exhibition “That jingly song” runs in the Music and audio documents reading room (auditorium 305).
Choral singing is an attractive and efficient kind of children's creative activities which social and aesthetic nature creates favorable preconditions for education of rising generation. In itself team singing is a fine psychological, moral and aesthetic environment to bring up the best qualities in the person.
Children's choral singing as an active creative leisure develops skills and abilities of a child, including performing skills. “Every one who for the first time met music in children's chorus, who was lucky to be with the song since his childhood, will keep these memoirs as perhaps the best in his life», Alexander Sveshnikov, the outstanding chorus master of the 20th century said.
Many of modern Belarusian and Russian composers – А. Danshova, А. Kozlova, Е. Atrashkevich, А. Bezenson, S. Bugasov, М. Slavkin, Y. Kornakov, S. Banevich, Е. Rushansky, V. Zalessky, А. Zhurbin, А. Britsin and others – are engaged in children’s choral music.
The offered exhibition presents the best pieces of choral music by classical composers, adaptations of folk songs and choruses a capella for children of all age groups. Music collections of series “Classical composers for children's chorus”, “A choral class”, “Chorus gold repertoire”, “The chorus master’s guide”, and also series “Jazz in children's chorus” are on display. These books will help to diversify the repertoire of children's choral groups and to open to young performers new pages of musical culture.
The exposition also includes thematic teacher editions.
The exhibition which purpose is to interest children in the world pieces of choral classics is designed for chorus masters and heads of choral studios, schools and colleges.
