The jubilee book exhibition "The Song has Wings", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian poet Adam Gerasimovich Rusak (1904–1987), takes place from May 22 to June 13 in the Belarusian Literature reading room (room 205).

 The work of Adam Gerasimovich is a distinctive page of the national poetic and song culture of Belarus. The poet's poems glorify the life and work of our people, their hospitality and sincerity. The attractiveness of A. Rusak's poetry lies in its melodiousness and musicality, in the deep lyricism of the word, and its organic connection with folklore. He dedicated his work to his native land, his countrymen, the Motherland and its defenders during the Great Patriotic War.

In the section of the exhibition “Poetry of Labour and Peace” you can get acquainted with the first collection of poetry “On native fields” (1946), collections of poems “Songs and Poems” (1951), “To the voice of the accordion” (1957), “Only with you" (1960), “Ringing sources" (1965), “Selected works” (1972), “Paint over, Neman” (1978), “Cover the tables” (1984), “Friends” (1987), “Songs of joy”, collections for children “In the Stork” (1967), “I know the lesson well" (1981), “My friend” (2023), as well as translations of poems into Russian, Ukrainian and other languages.

A separate section of the exhibition “The melodiousness of his lines” is dedicated to the part of A. Rusak's work that was set to music. Euphony, melodiousness, and nationality filled Adam Gerasimovich's poetic lines with Great songfulness and deep civic content. Music for the poet's poems was written by such famous composers as I. Luchenok, V. Olovnikov, R. Puxt, Y. Semenyaka, I. Loban, G. Wagner, I. Kuznetsov, etc. In addition to his famous "Be Healthy" (music by I. Loban), many other songs (about 300 in total) have become widely known, such as: “Only with you”, “Don't look for" (music by I. Loban), “Not for black eyes “ (music by Yu. Semenyako), ”Where are you, my star " (music by I. Luchenok), “Forest Song" (music by V. Olovnikov) and others. The performers of his songs were L. Alexandrovskaya, I. Bolotin, L. Utesov, I. Kobzon, etc., as well as vocal and instrumental ensembles "Pesnyary”, "Verasy", "Sorceresses".

The best songs and poems by A. Rusak are destined to longevity and immortality, because they are the very song spirit of Belarus and its people.

The exposition is complemented by publications about the poet's life and work, published in periodicals and encyclopedic publications. (Section "The great happiness of the poet")
