From January 4th to February 22nd in the National Library of Belarus (the circular passage on the third floor) is open a subject book exhibition “Triumph of the mind”.
In the modern world, scientific achievements and inventions are the integral part of the human life. At all times there were people who tried to use their knowledge and intelligence to make life better and easier. Today we take their inventions for granted and often don’t realize that, in due time, these inventions had exerted a profound influence upon the further way of the development of science.
The offered exhibition acquaints with the most eminent, world-famous scientists of all epochs who made outstanding achievements in various spheres of science, technologies and other kinds of human activity.
The exhibition presents about 300 fascinating books dedicated to lives and creative activity of thinkers, scientists and inventors who have really changed the world. The numerous sections of the exposition – “The history of science”, “People of an inquisitive thought”, “The greatest creations of mankind”, “Fantastic opportunities of the near future: nanotechnologies” – speak for themselves. Different book series, such as: “Amazing discoveries”, “Science. Outlook. Life.”, “Great thinkers”, “Masterpieces of engineering” and others will undoubtedly attract attention of readers.
The book series “Our eminent compatriots” and “People of the Belarusian science” are dedicated to lives and achievements of Belarusian scientists.
