On March 21, 2024, the National Library of Belarus hosted a dialogue platform with the participation of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Markevich, representatives of government agencies and public associations of Belarusians abroad.

The dialogue platform was attended by Anatoly Markevich, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Alexey Krivaltsevich, Adviser to the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Elena Bezruchko, Head of the Section on Nationalities of the Office of the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs, heads and representatives of public associations of Belarusians abroad from the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Estonia, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Bashkortostan, The Republic of Karelia and many cities of the Russian Federation.

Belarusians from abroad shared information about activities aimed at preserving and popularizing Belarusian culture, history, and language outside the Republic of Belarus.


During the event, Anatoly Markevich presented a memorable souvenir to the representative of Belarusians of Karelia, Miron Perkhin, who wrote in a letter to Father Frost that he really wanted to visit Belarus, where he had never been before, but only heard a huge number of stories about our beautiful country from his very active and deeply in love with Belarus grandmother, the chairman of the public associations of Belarusians of Karelia by Svetlana Bartashevich.

Following the results of the activities of public associations of Belarusians abroad,  Anatoly Markevich awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus to the leaders of the Belarusian diaspora for many years of work and great personal contribution to the preservation, development and popularization of Belarusian culture in the country of residence.
