On November, 20th, the Library hosted the award ceremony of the regional literary contest “Debut”.
The contest was held by the Administration of the Pervomaysky District of Minsk for the 18th time. People of all age could participate. This year competitors had to show their creative abilities within the bounds of three suggested themes one of which, Protecting this world is bequeathed to us, became the most popular due to the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
Among winners of the competition there were pupils of elementary school and senior classes, talented employees of the Minsk Watch Factory, workers of supermarkets, students and post-graduates, a pensioner and even a military man. All of them were awarded diplomas and memorable badges
Winners accepted the best wishes of the contest jury – laureate of republican and international prizes in the field of culture and employee of children’s magazine Vyasyolka (The Rainbow) Raisa Borovikova, editor-in-chief of this edition, known children’s writer Vladimir Lipsky, member of the Union of Writers of Belarus Victor Pravdin and poetess Valentina Polikanina
At the end of the event a photo session took place and plans for the following contest were discussed.
