On November 20, the National Library of Belarus hosted an award ceremony for winners and nominees of the regional literary contest “Debut”.
In Pervomaisky District, the literary competition is held annually. For eighteen years, the Debut Competition has discovered new talents and supported authors of all ages and professions.
This year, the jury received a record number of works: more than 350 poems, short stories, essays and plays. The works were distributed by three themes: “The Wonderful Land of My Life”, “I’m Proud of My Pervomaisky District”, and “All Starts with Love”.
Schoolchildren, students, cadets, teachers, engineers, workers, business leaders, retirees and other residents of Pervomaisky District participated in the competition.
This year, eighty-five people are winners, the youngest of them is eight years old, the oldest is aged eighty-tree.
The awards ceremony was organized by the National Library of Belarus and the Administration of the Pervomaisky District of Minsk.
