On April 16, 2009, a delegation from Poland visited National Library of Belarus.
The event took place in the framework of the visit of administration and functionalities of the associations “Poland-Belarus” and “Poland-East” to the Republic of Belarus for familiarization with the eminent historical and cultural objects and meetings with administrations of Minsk city and particular regions of Belarus.
The building of National Library of Belarus is one of the outstanding modern architectural monuments. According to the plan of joint action of the Embassy of Poland to the Republic of Belarus and association “Poland-Belarus” the Polish delegation got acquainted with National Library of Belarus.
Director of National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky welcomed the guests. Participants of the delegation made a tour of the Library and got acquainted with its history, architecture, user service, and activities of the Library as an informational, social and cultural center of Belarus. In the Museum of a Book the guests saw a collection of rarities form the collections of National Library of Belarus.
Representatives of the Embassy of Poland to the Republic of Belarus presented to National Library of Belarus a book of collected reproductions of Napoleon Orda’s engravings as a sign of gratitude for a hearty welcome and hospitality.
