On January 21st the National Library of Belarus received a collection of artworks from the International Guild of Painters.
The International Guild of Painters is an independent union which includes about 70 Belarusian painters and aquarellists along with artists from other countries. Thanks to the join efforts of National Library of Belarus and the International Guild of Painters, a number of original cultural events have been realized.
The aforementioned collection includes 70 artworks by the eminent Belarusian painters, graphic artists and photographers. All of them are presented at the exhibition arranged on the occasion of the event. Later, the collection of modern painting will be moved to the reading rooms to become part of the aesthetic interior design of the Library.
Within the framework of the presentation, a documentary-illustrative exhibition dedicated to the International Guild of Painters has been arranged. It includes journal reviews, posters, invitation cards, photo-reports of events, catalogs of exhibitions and other materials concerning the activity of the union.
F.A. Yastreb, head of the gallery department of National Library of Belarus and chairman of the International Guild of Painters delivered the opening speech. Besides, in the event participated: honored cultural worker of Belarus and chairman of painting section of the Belarusian Union of Artists V.V. Kozhukh; member of the expert commission of Belarusian non-governmental organization “Fotamastatstva” (“The Photo Art”) V.V. Vedrenko; painter and senior professor of the chair of arts of State Institute of Management and Social Technologies of Belarusian State University N.A. Rachkovskaya. National Librarian R.S. Motulsky welcomed the guests and expressed his thanks to the famous artists.
The music group “Pershatsvet” of Minsk secondary school 13 under the direction of V. Tulvinsky performed instrumental music.
The art exhibition is open at the galleries “Atrium” and “The Mobile Gallery” till February 26th. The documentary-illustrative exposition is located in the circular passage on the third floor.
