On October 30-31th, 2009, in Moscow took place the II International scientific conference “Language, book and traditional culture of the late Russian Middle Ages in life of the time and in science, museum and library work of the XXI century”.
The event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the scientific activity of I.V. Pozdeeva, the Professor, Doctor of History, founder of the archaeological school at the historical faculty of Moscow State University, was organized by М.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and the Russian World Fund.
At the conference G.V Kireeva, the head of bibliology department of National Library of Belarus, delivered the report “The collection of Cyrillic editions of the XVI-XX centuries of National Library of Belarus”
Scientists and researchers from Belarus, Russia, the Ukraine, Poland, the USA and Romania participated in the conference.
Reports, many of which were discussed by participants, revealed the role of the field and cameral archaeography in publishing of texts documents, putting of book monuments into scientific use, and preparation of bibliographic indexes of incunabula and manuscripts.
The archaeographic laboratory of Moscow State University regularly organizes training schools-seminars in all regions of the Russian Federation within the framework of which lectures and practical trainings (on the technique of the description of Cyrillic incunabula, paleography, filigree studies etc.) are held. Heads of the MSU archaeographic laboratory have recently suggested carrying out a similar seminar on the basis of National Library of Belarus.
G.V Kireeva has visited as well State Historical Public Library where, in department of rare books, archival materials on private libraries of Belarusian public figures I.H. Kolodeev and E.I. Baranovsky are kept.
National Library of Belarus has received as a present 7 editions published by М.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
