Chairman of the Primary Organization of the Public Association "Belarusian Union of Women" of the National Library of Belarus Natalia Esis took part in the Minsk city conference (19.04.2024) "At the front and in the rear: women of the Great Patriotic War", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
More than 650 delegates were invited to the event: members of the primary organizations of the public association "Belarusian Union of Women", representatives of labor collectives of Minsk in the fields of industry, education and science, business and entrepreneurship, healthcare, culture, law enforcement, representatives of active women's organizations of the Russian Federation from Izhevsk, Smolensk, Yuzhno-Uralsk, in the format The video conference was joined by Deputy Secretary of State of the Union State E.L.Bogdan, activists of the Union of Women of Vitebsk, Krasnodar, Samara.
The conference program included a plenary and nine breakout sessions, thematic exhibitions "Girls went to war ..." (Minsk city organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Women") and "The Female Face of Victory" (National Archive of the Republic of Belarus), excursions and other events.
The plenary session heard reports on the role of women in opposing the occupation authorities, in the rear, underground, guerrilla and military activities during the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Belarus. During the work of the sections, topical issues of preserving historical memory through the organization of work in labor collectives were discussed.
As part of the conference, its participants visited places of military glory and laid flowers at the monuments. We visited the leading industrial enterprises of the capital, got acquainted with their history and work during the years of occupation.
Olga Chemodanova, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Chairman of the Minsk city organization of the NGO Belarusian Union of Women, summed up the results of the conference, and also outlined the main directions within the framework of the work plan of the Women's Union for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
