On March 26th the library hosts a presentation of the book Belarus of Castles published by Belovagrupp.


The edition performed in the format of a picture album is the first large-scale project of Belarusian book publishing of the XXI century dedicated to architectural monuments. The work on the book has united leading historians and photographers of the country with the purpose of creation of a topical chronicle of castle culture of Belarus.

The edition includes original author's photos, cartographical, archival and museum data from Belarusian and foreign sources, historical drawings and engravings. The picture album is performed at a high artistic level with broadside panoramas of the Niesvizh, Mir, Grodno and Krevo castles, texts are in Russian and English languages.

Within the bounds of the presentation, the National Library of Belarus arranges a book exhibition of scientific, popular scientific, literary and art editions about the castle heritage of Belarus.

The presentation takes place at 4 p.m., in the gallery “Labyrinth” (on the 3rd floor).

We remember the great heroic deed

On May 7, on the eve of Victory Day, the staff of the National Library of Belarus laid flowers at the monument "Grieving Mother" in the Chelyuskintsev Park of Culture and Recreation. During the war of 1941-1943, thousands of dead soldiers, shot residents, as well as those who died during the difficult war years from hunger and disease found their last refuge here in mass graves.

We honour and remember!

On the eve of May 9 and in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, library staff carried out restoration and cleaning of the graves of employees who worked in the library in the pre-war and post-war periods.

UNESCO and Belarus: 70 years of successful cooperation

From May 8 to June 18, the thematic book exhibition "UNESCO and Belarus: 70 years of successful cooperation" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the accession of the Republic of Belarus to UNESCO was opened in the department of official documents of the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, room 207).
