The National Library of Belarus renders services on restoring and binding with different complexity level, but people often need to restore utility properties of documents promptly and cost-effectively, having retained their primary piece of information.

There are a few examples from our practice.

It was a breakage of a block, while its binding cover and pages were undamaged.



The binding cover was damaged and the first pages were highly damaged.



In this case, at the customer’s request, we did not restore the binding cover and the damaged pages, but we have manufactured a new cover and inserted printed copies of the pages in it.

In the illustrated examples, we have restored utility properties of the documents at low cost. It should be noted that if some pages are lost, it will be possible to photocopy them from the sample documents, which are kept in the National Library.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.

From May 6 to July 5, the Reference and Information Service reading room (room 257) hosts the book exhibition "Belarus Unconquered", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
