The Russian National Libraryе hosted the 29th annual conference "St. Petersburg and Belarusian Culture" on June 16th.

This year's event is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the "Malaya Podorozhnaya Knizhka" [A small traveling book], published by Francisk Skaryna. This book is considered to be the first published book in the Belarusian territories. The publication, which consists of 22 separate works and is characterized by a relatively small format, was intended at its time not only for church services, but also for private reading, traveling, and literacy training.

The conference focused on historical and book culture, musical and art works, and biographies of public figures. Researchers from Russia and Belarus spoke about historical documents, stored in Minsk and St. Petersburg archives and libraries, and discussed issues of cooperation in the field of culture.
