The 9th International scientific and practical conference "Electronic Culture" was held on 21 April at the site of the 29 International specialized exhibition TIBO.

The event was organized by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus and the National library of Belarus.

E-Culture brought together representatives of research organizations, cultural and educational institutions, developers and suppliers of software and electronic resources to exchange experience and find innovative ways to use information technologies in the field of culture. The conference was held in full-time and remote formats.

Moderators were V. Pshybytka, deputy director general – director for information resources and user services of the National library of Belarus, and V. Sebrukovich, head of the scientific and methodological department of the National historical museum of the Republic of Belarus.

A. Knizhnikava, director general of the National library of Belarus, read out the welcoming speech of A. Markevich, Minister of culture of the Republic of Belarus, to the conference attendees. The speech was about the importance of the scientific forum, designed to demonstrate achievements in the field of information and communication technologies in the field of culture, establish and develop business and creative contacts.

The event was attended by heads and specialists of the National library of Belarus, the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty), the Republican scientific medical library, the National historical museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Joint institute of informatics problems and the Center for Belarusian culture, language and literature of the National academy of sciences of Belarus, the Minsk state college of digital technologies.

The creation and growth of the National Electronic Library, the digitization of libraries, museums, and other institutions, preserving historical and cultural legacy, and social inclusion of people with visual impairments utilising digital technology were among the current topics covered. The conference ended with a discussion.

The event brought together the best practices of organizations in the field of culture, science and education and became an incentive for further meetings to exchange experience.
