The funniest children’s "textbooks" on Belarusian history were presented

On June 28, the Library hosted a presentation of books for children On a Visit to Francysk Skaryna and A Big Performance for Sonechka.

The author of the book project "A Magic Book" is a writer Elena Stelmakh. Eva NEMM is a creative pseudonym, based on the first letters of the names of the main co-authors of Elena, her daughters and granddaughters – Elena, Victoria, Nadezhda, Emilia, Maria, Margarita. And father Andrey, so to say, a personal driver of the writers.

The basis for creating of an unusual book series was a huge interest of the children to the history of the native country. Thus, the heroes of the first book On a Visit to Francysk Skaryna are magically transferred to the first printer’s workshop, where together with him they learn the secrets of creating of a miracle called "a book". In the second book A Big Performance for Sonechka, the main characters continue their journey through the time and find themselves in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, where fascinating adventures and acquaintance with the famous Barbara Radziwill are waiting for them.

The author of the book project, member of the Writers’ Union of Belarus, honored journalist of the Belarusian Union of Journalists Elena Stelmakh presented gift copies of the books to the first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova.

Since the release of the first book, the project managed to acquire an international sound – the presentations of the edition have already been held in Kalmykia, Dagestan, Moldova and other countries. Creative meetings were held as part of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing and allowed small readers from other countries to get acquainted with the history and culture of Belarus.
