The 16th session of the International Library and Philosophy School was held in Kaliningrad, on September 17–19. Topic: “The Modern Library in the Context of National Programs for the Development of Culture, Education, and Science.”
The three-day event was attended by leading experts and heads of libraries, museums, research organizations, and educational institutions. The session discussed the transformation of public libraries in the digital world and examined the world trends in the development of cultural institutions.
By tradition, the opening of the philosophical school started with a ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial tomb of Immanuel Kant.
The Republic of Belarus was represented at the event by Marina Pshybytko, head of the Library Science Research Department of the National Library of Belarus. She presented a report on the state and development of Belarusian libraries in the era of digital transformation of society.
