On May 27th, at the National Library of Belarus has been launched the International scientific conference "The origins and results of the World War II in the mirror of science and ideology” dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory.


Organizers of the event are: the Federal Agency for the Affairs of the CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), the Belarusian Association of Political Sciences and the National Library of Belarus with the support of the Interstate Fund for the CIS Member States Cooperation.

Historians, political scientists and journalists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus delivered their reports on presentation of the World War II in science and ideology.

The first day of the conference ended up with discussions on the subjects as follow: “Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in the context of the world geopolitics changing”,”The Russian history in Ukrainian textbooks”, “The symbols and images of the war interpreted by schoolchildren in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine”.

The event continues on May 28th at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

"On the paths of bright spring" by Pavlyuk Trus

On May 16, participants of the National Library of Belarus project "On the wave of time throughout life" visited the Uzden Central District Library named after Pavlyuk Trus, where they took part in the literary and musical festival "On the paths of bright spring.." dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet, member of the association "Maladnyak", native of Uzden region Pavlyuk Trus (1904-1929).
