On April 27th, within the framework of an official visit to the Republic of Belarus, the parliamentary delegation from Turkmenistan headed by Chairman of the Majlis of Turkmenistan visited the National Library of Belarus.


L.G. Kiryukhina, the Deputy Director for Research and PR, welcomed the delegation. During a panoramic excursion of the National Library of Belarus the guests got acquainted with the work of the Library, its architectural features, equipment, information resources and interior design.

Members of the delegation ascended the indoor observation platform of the Library and admired the picturesque landscape of the city and the suburbs.

At the Book Museum the guests saw the collection of rarities from the collections of the National Library of Belarus. On completion of the meeting Chairman of the Majlis of Turkmenistan A.T. Nurberdyeva wrote a memorable entry to the Guests of Honor Book, then the two parties exchanged keepsakes.

On the eve of May 9 and in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, library staff carried out restoration and cleaning of the graves of employees who worked in the library in the pre-war and post-war periods.

From May 8 to June 18, the thematic book exhibition "UNESCO and Belarus: 70 years of successful cooperation" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the accession of the Republic of Belarus to UNESCO was opened in the department of official documents of the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, room 207).
